As a critical structural component of jacket platforms, skirt pile sleeves currently face the primary challenge of accurately simulating interactions of their structures in complex marine environments. This paper takes a jacket platform in the East China Sea as an example. In-place strength of the jacket platform was calculated and analyzed by the Structural Analysis Computer System (SACS) software, and then the ABAQUS finite element model of the skirt pile sleeve was established. An optimization design approach based on equal-strength design was proposed. The results show that the high stress zone of the skirt pile sleeve appears in the intersection area between the upper yoke plate and the sleeve, the support rod of the jacket leg, and the inner strengthening ring area of the jacket leg, and the other areas have less stress. Furthermore, the thickness of the longitudinal shear plates and the sleeve can be appropriately reduced to achieve balanced material distribution and realize a lightweight design for the skirt pile sleeve. The research results can be used as reference for the optimization design of skirt pile sleeves for similar jacket platforms in the future.
